Really nice Robert. I see you are from Texas. What month did you take the photo in? It is September on the gulf coast and the G.B.Herons just look so ugly to me, and not at all with the lovely streaming feathers your bird has.

The bird is as still as the inanimate objects in the picture. Like the positioning of the bird looking out from the frame. Good use of lines and framing.
