You're welcome Robert!! We don't have an issue with lizards or snakes here. It is most often the English/house sparrow ~ they will actually kill the bluebirds and destroy the eggs (I've sadly seen it done). They will trap one of them in a birdhouse and kill them. I think in the case this time ~ they just kept harrassing them and they finally left. But I will keep hoping!!! Years ago I had a house with three that grew up and flew the coup ~ so very exciting!! Maybe I'll have to post the picture sometime of them in the nest.

This is a terrific capture!! Just love bluebirds. We almost had little ones in one of my birdhouses last year, but something made the adults abandon the eggs. F/V
Robert Frederick replied:
I know what you mean Tami - try putting some netting around the pole to keep lizards and snakes away. If you use a metal pole, cats (#1 enemy) can't climb. But that's just what others tell me - I'm no expert. Thanks for the F/V!

Thanks Robert, I figured out what you meant and I'm going to see if I'm any good at it.

I couldn't tell if he was acting fearless, or just focused on a cricket - thanks for the fv Kate
